    preset psi a great help
I worked for AAA. Most (all) compact spare tires are to be inflated to 60 psi. When I would help motorists on the roadside I found none had 60 psi. I could set the compressor to 60 psi attach the hose and it would be filled by the time I got the car jacked up and tire off. Even though the truck had a more powerful air compressor this compressor could fill to the proper psi on is own. Very handy.

Excellent product AC/DC switch bad spot
When you use this product on AC you need to remove DC power cord to get to select switch. No big problem but inconvenient.

    Poorly designed
It does work, but is Poorly designed!! Using the a/c power, the d/c cord has to be removed from it's storage to get to the on switch. Very inconvienient! The a/c cord and the air hose should both be about 6 feet longer. Who wants to get out an extention cord every time they want to plug it in? The coupler on the air hose is very flimsy, cheap and can't last long. The previous model air station was so superior to the new one and it was made in the USA! It was a/c power only but had long cords and hoses and wrap around storage for them. The switch was easy to get to. That thing was used almost daily, like any other home appliance. New one needs re-designed again to be much more user friendly, and made with better quality materials, such as a metal coupler and re-inforced air hose. Sorry, I just think a company like Black & Decker could have done worlds better. Thanks!

    Reliability is not good
Let this thing run for about 15 minutes to fill up an air tank. Was trying to get up to 100 psi in the tank. This unit burned out when the pressure hit about 90 psi. The nylon gear failed, could take the workload. Poor design, in my opinion.

Airing up tires and toys is so easy
One in my wifes car and one in mine for on the road assistance. I have a third for the inflatables for the Grand kids. I'll probably get my brother one as gift. I've purchased cheaper ones but they always fail when you need them most. I gave my first B&D air station a super workout and it's still going strong after 3 years.

I guess my fuse is blown too
The unit has worked fine to inflate tires in my garage using AC power. Today I needed to inflate my bicycle tires to 80 psi and decided to use the DC feature. It inflated the first tire fine and then quit half way through inflating the second tire. This was the first time I had tried using the unit with DC power. It still works when I plug it into AC.

This ASI300 has automatic shut off when set pressure is reached. It can be powered by car's cigarette lighter or by an AC power outlet in your house, an option similar inflaters do not have.
