I specifically wanted this model because I don't believe the replacement model has a strong enough handle. This one is built in.
I ordered a new B&D hedge trimmer from another source and it took a month to get it. In the meantime, I ordered this re-conditioned one. FAST shipping. Strangely the new one finally arrived one day before this one. So I compared both of them. It seems the blades on the re-conditioned one were not as sharp as the new one.
But the new one, the blades did not stop immediately when releasing the trigger. I called B&D and they said they should. So I returned that one and kept this re-conditioned one.
Happy overall except for the dull blades.
Saved some bucks. Good Guarantee.

This product lives up to there claims it is very well constructed and last a long time on the battery. The best idea is to ditch the charger that comes with it and get the fast charger it makes your batteries charge faster and last longer. I have been very happy with the Black & Decker products I have bought and having a two year warranty is great.

Used to trim bushes around the home. Works well for me because I have a small yard with just a few shrubs. Enough power on one charge to trim the bushes in my yard. Easy to handle, and much easier to use than an electric model. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Use the trimmer to maintain landscaping. Great to not have electrical cord or gas engine. Doesn't make the cleanest cuts on larger branches, but I've just begun using the trimmer, so my technique may need some work.
