Awesome vac for the money
This is a great robotic vacuum for the money! We're had 2 Roomba's over the years, but decided to try the Black and Decker model, because it's a trusted brand and the price was compelling. This vac does great, and the larger dust bin is a win. We have hard wood, area rugs and tile which this little guy maneuvers over with ease. The only small criticism is it takes a while to "learn" where the the dock is, but it gets there eventually. My husband loves using the ap to schedule cleanings, and change the colors. My cleaners even use it before they mop!

Nice for houses with kids
We don't have a pet, but we bought the pet version, as we have a 20 month old, who constantly is dropping things on the carpet. We run the vac daily, and it saves us more than a couple hours per week in vacuuming. The dirt bin is quite large, and somehow it always fills up, even when we're running the unit daily. The unit does some times get stuck underneath our bookshelf or kitchen cabinets, but otherwise, it moves from wood to tile to carpet to area rugs very nicely. It's durable, has good suction power and compared to a normal vacuum, isn't too loud.

I love to watch it work
I have no complaints. I have owned the HRV425BLP for a month now and it does a great job. I could not believe how much dirt and dog hair it picks up. The only time that it has given me a error code was when I hoping that a rug in the front door would not cause trouble with it cleaning the entrance way but the rug was very thick so it would catch the end of the rug and get caught in the main brush. I now roll it up and set it to the side, out of the way. After I thought about it, I could not have done that with an ordinary upright sweeper because it would have done the same thing. I have read that some customers stated that there Robot had trouble finding it's charging dock. my experience is that It some times takes it more time, when Bandit ends up in one of the bed rooms but it will finally find it's charging base. Only once I had to pick it up and put it back in the same room as the charger and then when it see it's home it sneaks up on it like a cat playing with her toy and when it's lined up it speeds up a little like a cat jumping on it's toy. When you down load the App to your Mobil phone you get to name the sweeper so I named mine Bandit. The only option I wish it had was an invisible wall so I could restrict it from going places that I did not need it too. I now just lay a broom handle across the door opening to block it in. I realize that there are some more expensive robot's out there with more bells and whistles on them but they are twice the money or more for my money the Black and Decker does a great job for the money.

Complete Junk
I purchased 5 of these as Christmas presents for my family; I kept one of the five for myself. They are all absolute garbage, all of them. None of them will vacuum for more than 2 minutes without an error. None of them operate correctly. They will not return to the base without an error; quite frankly, they will do nothing without an error. You have to go to the unit and reset it every time it starts to do anything.

I am very, VERY disappointed. I hope the money I gave you guys is giving you less trouble than these vacuums are giving me. I don't mean to be rude, but it is pathetic that not one unit can operate correctly out of five. Complete junk by Black and Decker.

Does a great job
This robot vacuum is well built, performs great and has an easy app to use with it. For the price we couldn’t really go with another brand. It does a great job.

Does exactly what it should
This vacuum robot is pretty great. I love that it works all the surfaces, tile, carpet and hardwood. It picks up virtually everything including dirt, food, carpet lint and pet fur. (We have 4 cats and 4 children under 8. My only complaint was that “searching for charger” can be quite a feat for this robot. If your charger base is near any table legs or shelves, it tends to get confused. I found moving the charger base to an area where there aren’t other “base like things” to confuse it, corrected this issue and has worked perfectly since. I think, for what it’s designed to do, it does. It certainly should not be viewed as the only floor cleaning method (vacuum) one should have, but it definitely makes keeping floors clean easier and also dramatically cuts down the amount of times we need to be bringing out our central vac hoses etc.

I’ve never had a robotic vac. Very interested for cat fur. Lots of hardwood floors. Do these machines scratch wood floors at all?
A shopper on Nov 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Just had our hardwood floors refinished. Also have several pets! The robotic vac does NOT scratch the floors, and you won't believe all the pet hair it picks up! I can't comment on how it works on carpet, but it's a lifesaver for hardwood, tile, etc.
I have tile and hardwood. There is a 3/4" transition from one to the other, basically a ranch style base turned on its side form a fairly smooth transition. Will the vac be able to make the transition?

BEST ANSWER: I have the same going into one of the bathrooms and it has had no trouble crossing it.

Do you have to set "boundaries"?

Do I have to plug the base in the room I want cleaned? I have mine plugged in kitchen. My bedroom and bathroom are on the left of that. But it goes from kitched to livingroom then back to charger when finished, never to the other end of my trailer where my bedroom and bath are.
